2009 Next Gen

Now a MIFF institution, the Next Gen program provides stimulating films for our younger generations of cinema viewers.
These intelligent and entertaining films offer developing cinefiles insight into the world around us, and a glimpse of the endless possibilities of international cinema.
For teachers:
Please note that the films included in the Next Gen program can only be seen at MIFF. The majority of these films will not get an Australian release or be readily available on DVD, so don't miss this opportunity to see these cinematic gems!
Curriculum adaptability includes LOTE (Czech, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Mandarin, Turkish), English, Fine Arts, Studies of Society and Environment, Culture, History, Civics and Citizenship, Media, Communication and Thinking Processes.
A teachers STUDY GUIDE, highlighting the Next Gen films’ applications to different subjects and containing suggestions for activities and discussion topics, is NOW available. For General Public:
Next Gen is not only for school groups, but its also a great way for friends and families to spend a weekend together Additional weekend screenings will be announced with the launch of the full MIFF program on Friday 10 July.
