Get excited! In the lead-up to our 71st edition this August, we’ve announced our 2023 Opening Night Gala (Noora Niasari’s moving mother–daughter portrait Shayda) and our first ever Music on Film Gala (Paul Goldman’s rollicking documentary Ego: The Michael Gudinski Story).
A wall-to-wall celebration of world cinema, alongside the best in new Australian filmmaking. 2023 will see the second year of our Bright Horizons competition, supported by VicScreen, presenting incredible breakthrough films and filmmakers to Melbourne audiences and contributing to an anticipated prize pool of over $250,000.
Keep an eye out for our First Glance announcement on Thursday 8 June and our full MIFF 2023 Program Launch on Tuesday 11 July.
Show your love for MIFF while accessing year-round benefits. Complimentary preview screenings, exclusive Member discounts and year-round concession entry to all our cinema partners are just some of the perks of joining our community of Melbourne film lovers.
Each year MIFF engages an exceptional team of volunteers to help deliver the MIFF experience to our passionate audience. If you’re interested in working in the film or events industries, this is a fantastic way to be a part of a world-renowned festival, and a great way to get a foot in the door.
