Today's Highlights

There's only 6 days of MIFF left – time to get into the cinemas and catch those screenings before the Festival closes its doors until next year! Some highlights of today's sessions:

Chinese director Peng Tao's Little Moth, a heart-breaking tale of child exploitation, is a stand-out amongst recent Chinese cinema. (5pm at Greater Union)

Blind Loves is a fascinating insight into what it's like to fall in love when you can't see. A psuedo-documentary, featuring blind actors. (5.15pm at ACMI)

The story of the Australian-Aboriginal World Championship boxer Lionel Rose, Lionel is a fascinating proile of one of Australia's true heros. (7.00pm at Greater Union)

For something a little more out of the box, check out the Experimental Shorts session, featuring experimental and innovative shorts from around the world, including Jeanne Liotta's Observando el cielo, Michael Robinson's Light is Waiting, and Melbourne filmmaker Briget Walker's past perfect ~ present continuous. (7.00pm at ACMI)

Bertrand Bonello's On War is the story of a man's attempt to explore his subconscious and to push the bounds of society, in this feature that comes straight from the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes. (9.15pm at Forum)

Tonight also features a special event in which Eric Bana presents a film that had a formative impact on him as a youth – George Miller's post apocalyptic classic Mad Max 2. A Q&A session with Eric Bana follows the screening. (7.00pm at Forum)

At the Coopers Festival Lounge

Tonight Ian Nightingale from the Listening Lounge returns to The Coopers Festival Lounge at 8pm, playing an eclectic selection of film soundtrack vinyl
