Alumni Update
Amy Gebhardt has graduated from AFTRS with a Masters in Directing. She is currently writing her first feature and is in development on a documentary that Tony Ayres is producing.
Rhys Graham's feature drama Galore was funded for development through AFC’s Indivision lab, which provided him the opportunity to workshop the script with writers Mogens Rukov (Festen) and Andrew Bovell (Lantana). He has also recently completed a series of short documentaries on contemporary poets for the ABC and is working on a new feature script – a tropical gothic – for director Tony Ayres.
Sian Davies - Since participating in Accelerator, Sian Davies has completed her Film Victoria-funded short Poetry, screening this year at MIFF. She is currently working on Carry Me Down, a feature adaptation of M.J. Hyland's Booker Prize-nominated novel, with producer Selin Yaman.

Rene Hernandez is currently in pre-production on The Ground Beneath, a 20-minute short film funded by the Australian Film Commission.
Tearepa Kahi has completed the short film TAUA: War Party, a cultural epic of a short film involving a 56 ft war canoe laden with human canoe that is being dragged by 35 warriors through a forest. He is currently working on a feature project called A Gift to Zion.

Ben Phelps
Denie Pentecost’s film Sexy Thing has been traveling around and winning awards at many film festivals worldwide and screened on SBS Television in May. She is currently writing a feature.
Ben Phelps is currently writing a feature script. He's also developing a short film with Producer John Maynard, titled Nice Shootin', Cowboy, based on a short story by Anson Cameron.
Jane Shearer attended Cinemart in Rotterdam to present The French Doors (working title) to potential producers and investors. She has been writing her features - The French Doors, Y2K and Little People with co-writer Steve Ayson. She is in pre production on her second short film Choice Night.
ACCELERATOR 2005
Paulo Alberton concluded his Masters degree in documentary directing at AFTRS. He went onto direct an episode of the documentary series Give Me A Break produced by Artemis International for SBS. In 2006 he moved to Sydney and worked full-time for the independent documentary filmmaker David Goldie on various interactive projects, including the SBS Podlove and the Raising Children DVD. Paulo has just recently returned to freelancing.
Michael Bennett has a number of features in various stages of development, including Prey of Birds (a Maori horror), Scumbags (a fully animated feature set in the sewers under Manhattan), SALT (a post-apocalyptic love story) and Exit 50. He has also been working on various TV projects including Outrageous Fortune.
Helena Brooks is now based in London and is represented by Moon Films as a TV commercial director. She is currently working on a feature script.
Tony Krawitz has been writing a feature script set in Johannesburg called Amnesia and started directing for television, on All Saints and an upcoming show called city Homicide.
Ali Kasap is presently working on a short film titled Broken English, as well as a feature script titled Love Brunette about a single night of anxiety, anguish and inappropriate bellydancing at an Turkish Australian wedding.
Catriona McKenzie co-directed (with David Caesar) the AFI-winning miniseries RAN (Remote Area Nurse) and the documentary Mr Patterns. Her first feature in development, Satellite Boy, which she is writing/directing, took part in the Aurora initiative.
Eron Sheean’s short film William screened at Sundance this year. He is currently writing the feature Red Hair & Ration. He has also taken up an artist-in-residency at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden, where he is developing a feature film based around their ground-breaking work on cell and developmental biology.

Erin White is currently undertaking a Masters degree in Directing at AFTRS. Her short Dugong is screening at MIFF 07. She is now developing several long form projects.
ACCELERATOR 2004
Ben Chessell directed the short feature The Heartbreak Tour in 2005 and currently has a feature project in development with producer Jason Byrne.
Chi Yen Ooi’s feature Beetle Ramen was the Australian project selected for the Rotterdam Cinemart feature-pitching forum in 2006.
Amiel Courtin-Wilson is currently shooting his feature documentary about Australian musician Ben Lee and in post-production on his feature documentary about renowned Aboriginal actor and cat burglar Jack Charles. He is also in the final stages of financing his first dramatic feature film Warm Blood with producers Philippa Campey, Liz Watts and James Hewison.

Amiel Courtin Wilson
Sotiris Dounoukos completed a director's attachment on Italian director Giada Colagrande's feature film, Before it Had a Name. He has directed the shorts Punch and Paper and Sand.
Charlotte George has directed Two Minutes to Midnight and Ingrid Sits Holding a Knife as well as two music videos for The Audreys.
Ben Hackworth has recently completed his debut feature film, Corroboree, co-written with Peter Savieri.
Taika Waititi’s Two Cars, One Night was nominated for an Academy Award. His first feature film Eagle vs Shark screened at Berlin and he has been named as one of ten new talents to watch in Variety.
