Premiering in 2007, and back by popular demand, the Next Gen program treats Melbourne’s younger generations as mature, contemporary viewers.

With a program featuring films for everyone aged 8 or older, Next Gen offers budding film fans, teachers, community groups and families an appetising taste of international cinema.

All the films featured in the Next Gen program will inspire, provoke, challenge, amaze, entertain and provide much food for classroom and family discussions.

It is a great opportunity for the younger members of our community, as well as the young at heart, to become part of the MIFF experience!!

For teachers, curriculum adaptability includes LOTE (Danish, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Persian), English, the Arts, Studies of Society and Environment, Culture, History, Civics and Citizenship, Media, Communication and Thinking Processes.
